Ramblings on about natural perfumery . . . and other moderately related perfumery stuff, written by Justine Crane, natural botanical perfumer, olfactogustatorian, writer, alchemist, and owner of The Scented Djinn Parfum Apothecary & Thurifercorum
The lady in the "Amare Mezzanotte" picture certainly has a fine hat to display: I simply can't imagine being the person under such a confection. Puts me in mind of Edith Wharton's ladies, living a life that demands that they be decorative at all costs.
ReplyDeletecheerio, from the non-decorative Anna in Edinburgh:-)
Hi Anna! Thank you for commenting. I've taken to wearing hats lately, the collection my mother had. None compare to Miss Amare Mezzanotte's hat, though. I'd make a very poor peacock (peahen?) as I'm also non-decorative.
