Perfumery Alcohols
If you are fortunate enough to have access to different types of perfumery alcohols, you may choose one over another because of its inherent scent profile. For example, fruit alcohols such as orange, lychee, and grape carry notes of the fruit. Corn & wheat alcohols are very strong and almost abrasive smelling, while coconut spirits add a sweet, fruity, warm, nutty note to the final perfume. Cane spirits are a preference as the scent is much less abrasive than corn/wheat, and not as representative of the source (orange, grape, lychee, coconut). Cane is rather neutral.
