Trouble
I got trouble, trouble, trouble, always knockin' at my door.
Ramblings on about natural perfumery . . . and other moderately related perfumery stuff, written by Justine Crane, natural botanical perfumer, olfactogustatorian, writer, alchemist, and owner of The Scented Djinn Parfum Apothecary & Thurifercorum
Assorted Blerghs. ... I wont assume the context, but
ReplyDeleteI hope you can at least feel solid and assured of your own excellence&/ moral quality.... It is very apparent.
<3, ....
I made a paste thing loosely based on the ingredients for your May Zahr w/ mostly lots of orris powder and myrrh, frankincense, juniper resins as the main base, +
a big ol' goober of seaweed abs,
egyptian violet leaf, orange blossom & cassie concretes,
liberal vetiver-patchouli,
woods accord w/ bouquet of fancy musky things (ambrette co2, beeswax & saffron abs, etc)
C. erythraea opoponax & galbanum oils
J. sambac, rose otto, rosewood, petitgrain, lavender, calendula co2
and probably excessive amounts of green tea & white lotus waxes.......
The waxes totally dissolved into the other stuff without heat, kneaded together w/ a grapefruit spoon in a lil glass bowl til it was "smooth dough" ---.... & I am totally enthralled by the co-solvation of it all ... alchemy, I guess :)
Anyway it smells phenomenal. ... : Rosey, violety, deep floral-green, umami-resinous, holy--- w/ that bittersweet orange blossom magic all throughout... big and velvety and zazzy-fresh and bready-indolic....
Bitter, & totally divine.
&&&&&, lol.
I've been putting tiny bits of it on a piece of quartz while I work, feeling very grateful and sending lots of good-healthy, protective, stabilizing vibe-thoughts out into the collective. Really appreciating you, and all the others. :)
Hope you get a break from the stresses <3
:) <3,
Dav
The stresses aren't anything unusual, just had a moment there.
DeleteYour May Zahr-like incense sounds delicious! I love the idea of the orris in there, and green tea, and white lotus waxes, and . . . all of it? Yes, all of it! Set aside a wee smidge and then revisit it in a year. You'll be amazed at the transformation.
Working on reducing the stress now. See you on the other side :)
