Road Trip

I can smell stuff! I actually smelled the coffee this morning, if slightly muffled. Whoopee! I'm going on a little road trip today and was kind of dreading it because all of my favorite stopping spots would be somewhat flavorless without my sense of smell, but I'm super excited about it now. Hello, fuzzy roadside stand peaches! Also, knock on wood, there are zero fires in or near my mountain misery harvesting spots this year, so the next road trip will consist of gathering a year's worth (which, honestly, isn't much, a pound or two at best) of chamaebatia foliolosa for tincturing and CO2 alcohol extracting -- ooh, and some for drying to add to incense formulations. Now if we could just get some rain this fall, all will be well (ish).
