Education Certification & Future Goals
The glow of education certification has dimmed a bit and the reality of the work necessary to keep it looms like an intimidating shadow. I am both excited about the prospect of leveling up and filled with dread. I actually had a dream a few nights ago about how my lack of formal education and poor vocabulary was going to adversely affect the accreditation process. It was silly, but it did cause a lot of anxiety for a few days.
That's one goal achieved, and there is another on the near horizon. This next goal is equally as important, if not more important, than accreditation. It is a promise to natural perfumers to always keep their interests in the fore, something that has been a long time coming. But, mum's the word. No more on that right now.
Viridescent is getting rave reviews from the small handful of folks brave enough to have tried it out. I really worried over that one. It can get a bit screamy with the greenness. The hope is that it gets even better with age, so if it is too much now, in a couple of months it will be absolutely stunning. Even Devil's Dung, a rank little number I created in 2019 with loads of valerian absolute to mimic and make fun of the fecal nastiness of civet finally settled down to something wonderfully beautiful and much less foul than when first made. It smells like a classic old perfume with a light aldehydic opening, and a gentle, sweet, unoffensive animalic dry down.
My intention was to write loads of stuff here on the blog today, but my hands are so cold they are shaking, and wrapping them around a hot mug of coffee seems more important than tapping away at this keyboard, so I will leave you until next time.
