Summer Oil

This is a nicely crafted, all natural body oil for after sun, after shower, or in the tub. Made with fast absorbing oils of extra virgin olive, virgin organic coconut and organic golden jojoba, it will leave your skin lightly moisturized and softly scented all day.

Scented with oils of home distilled lemon (whole fruit), palmarosa, geranium, patchoulis (aged, dark and CO2), petitgrain bigarade, ambrette and cilantro.

Leaves a soft, rosy, powdery musk essence on the skin after the lemon, petitgrain and cilantro dry down.

Fresh and light.

Patchai Ellai White Tea Soap

Gorgeously scented patchouli soap with Siam benzoin, clary sage absolute, Himalayan cedarwood, Vanuatu sandalwood, cardamom, cananga, fig, nutmeg, ho wood with a white tea oil infusion, and generously drizzled with a dark, aged vetyver.

Deep, lush, earthy and ethereal ~ copious lather due to the soap base ~ only the GOOD STUFF, baby! Virgin olive, organic coconut, pressed sunflower and avocado oils with a little bit of organic cocoa butter.

I've wrapped these lovelies in paisley cloth and bound them with fairy yarn, The Scented Djinn style.

Social Networking in the NBP

Everyone seems to be Twittering (does that require capitalization?), Facebooking, texting, updating and blogging (she grins) about everything, from the boring, mundane, often ridiculous -- "My sweet little kitty Cleopatra Sheba LaBelle just coughed up a hair ball--it looks like puke-sh*t!" (really? do I need/want to know this?), to the--well, F-it! more boring and mundane and ridiculous. I'm a sinner in this regard. This post, for example, may go nowhere at all . . .

I don't twitter, hardly ever Facebook (how many cyber mandalas, plants and acres of cyber rain forest can a person have? and I REALLY don't know Michel Roudnitska, but he's one of my "friends"), blog sporadically, and suck at returning emails in a timely fashion. Basically, the day-to-day bores the rippin' hell outta me (I'd rather distill something -- maybe Cleopatra Sheba LaBelle's puke-sh*t). It CAN be entertaining, but mostly not.

So what's this got to do with NBP? It's my kind of social networking. You, as a natural botanical perfumer or student, have an event and want to spread the word, I'll Facebook you, twitter you, blog you and email everyone I know to get the word out. If you're selling wares on Ebay or Etsy, I'm your twitter-head (not really, I still don't twitter, but I'll let people know what you're up to).

I respect the nbp'ers who acknowledge the efforts made by those of us who can't keep our mouths, or laptops, closed about how much we respect and appreciate them.

Check out the "Scented Places" links on the right and way toward the bottom of this blog and you'll find some of those worthy folks. I'm adding new ones all the time . . .

So, really, this post was about not much except maybe to say thanks to you -- and you know who you are.

Full Moons, Mercury Retrograde

A money magnet, eh? Not something I would have said about myself a month ago. In fact, I might have gone as far as saying my luck, or whatever you call it -- fates? -- was negative, a sucking void. But since The Traveling Astrologer told me in a nonchalant and disconcerting way, "You're a money magnet, you know that," I've realized that, well, she's right. Business, as it were, ain't boomin', but it's there. Steady. And, surprisingly, bursts of sales seem to appear when I'm down to my last shekel and wondering how I'm going to pay the (insert bill name here). Like magic. And, oddly, when everyone else is shrieking and pulling at their hair over bad moons and Mercury retrograde and poor sales, everything for me stays the same. It's a roller coaster ride 24-7, 12 months a year, decade after decade, and I go with it. Life is a mystery.

*Update: You have to read what Eleneetha writes on her Etsy site about Taurus/Merc. retro. Very insightful and helpful info.
