Mother's Day 2012 ~ Soap

May Queen ~ Mother's Day 2012

A smooth creamy extra virgin olive oil soap with hints of moisturizing sunflower oil and enriching rose hip seed oil, and just enough coconut oil to keep the bubbles coming. Scented to heaven with juicy red mandarin, clary sage essential oil, tangerine essence, mimosa, clary absolute, jade cypress, hinoki and Queen Anne's lace.

Right now the cut and curing bars are filling the studio with scent ~ it raises your spirits to smell it, flush with tangy fruit notes that swirl around sweet, heady notes and touches of soft woodiness.  It's very nice, if I do say so myself.

The scent combination is attributed to Lisa C.'s suggestion, to which I added jade cypress and Queen Anne's lace.

The soap will be listed at The Scented Djinn Etsy shop later this evening.

  2. I love how soap looks when it's still in loaf form -- like a big whipped decadent dessert. Back 'in the day' I used to leave the soaps in big loaves like this and sell them 'to order', cutting off chunks and selling them by the ounce at craft shows -- I can't tell you how many people were attracted to the soap based only on appearance. Some thought it was fudge, while others thought perhaps cheese. Those pretty loaves started many interesting conversations.
